Description
This very fine foliage Thalictrum was grown from seeds received under another name but it fits best Thalictrum foetidum; I grew seedlings a few times and they all come true. A very nice species which should be cultivated more (and maybe it is under the wrong name :)
Fine, lacy, bluish-green foliage that turns yellow-russet in the fall. Its beauty is hard to capture in pictures.
Given its fine texture it can be combined with any plants. I particularly like the combination its fine foliage makes with the summer gentians and Roscoea growing nearby in my garden.
Germination: I always germinate the seeds with GA3 (1000 ppm) indoors in February and get fairly good size plants by late May. Self-sown seedlings appear around the established plants, so fresh seeds may germinate at warm. Always safe to sown in late fall/early winter if possible.
