Description
This is a mottled form of V. sororia, and the common name is said to be alluding to the the resemblance of its flowers to the color of Confederate uniforms during the Civil War (pale greyish blue).
A handsome, easy to grow violet; with too much moisture it will even grow a bit too large but nevertheless worth having in the collection.
Germination: cold/moist stratification; sow in late fall.
