Description
A tall, impressive Aster for moist areas with stiff, reddish stems and clusters with light blue, large flowers in in late summer (also called purple-stemmed aster).
In the featured image you can notice leaves of Cinnamon fern, for size comparison. For those with moist areas, along river streams, and for naturalization areas in part-shade.
Germination: sow in late fall/early winter (cold-moist stratification).
