Description
A bit rare form of Actaea pachypoda, with deep pink/magenta berries instead of white, displayed on red, thick stalks; the same conspicuous black spot of the stigma scar. Some don’t recognize it saying it’s a hybrid between A. pachypoda and A. rubra but it doesn’t seem to have intermediate characters.
Most importantly, it also comes true when grown from seeds.
Very striking and my favourite Actaea, although I like them all; most useful plants for partly moist or even dry shaded locations. Everything else and germination like for Actaea pachypoda with ‘regular’ white berries. They look amazing planted together.
