Description
A handsome thimbleweed flowering in June with cream-white flowers with a boss of yellow anthers atop stems with deeply lobed leaves (it also presents basal leaves).
After pollination the fruit heads elongate into a cylindrical cone as the seed begins to develop, hence the common name. At maturity they become very fluffy, with tiny dark brown seeds attached to cottony tufts.
Nice and tough Anemone for a well- drained, part sun location.
Germination: cold/moist stratification; easy from seeds, sow in late fall/winter.
