Description
A smaller size Blue false indigo, a good candidate for small gardens. The lupin-like, dusty violet flowers are a bit larger in size than in B. australis.
Everything else stays the same: a long lived, hardy, drought tolerant plant, great for pollinators in full sun locations; also tolerates light shade.
Germination: warm germinator but the seeds have impermeable seed coats; use a light scarification followed by sowing in the spring, or use the HWT (hot water treatment). Alternatively the seeds can be sown in late fall/winter outdoors in which case the seed coats will degrade naturally.
The seeds may be slow to germinate, be patient; the seedlings will be slow growing in the first season but they will pick up the pace in the next couple of years.
