Description
This is a great sedge that forms carpets on the woodland floor. It grows well on moist or dry soils, forming nice carpets of fine foliage clumps; extremely useful including in difficult dry/shade situations. The foliage persists well through the winter.
Just like in its woodland natural habitat, you can use it as a ground cover or grow other woodland species among it: Hepatica americana, Viola pubescens, Smilax herbacea, Trillium grandiflorum…
Germination: sow in late fall (cold/moist stratification).
