Description
This grass has survived in quite a few impossible places in my ever-changing garden. It prefers a moist, rich soil but will also tolerate well poor soil conditions – it will just remain a bit shorter.
Tall clumps with bamboo-like leaves and highly ornamental; compressed spikelets in drooping terminal inflorescences are turning from green and golden to a bronze colour in late summer. Watching the spikelets fluttering in the slightest breeze can easily become your favourite past-time, especially in the fall!
It will provide year-round interest in the garden; used in groups or as a specimen. Late fall bring in the house a few stems and they’ll continue the décor in dry arrangements for a long time.
Germination: very easy and fast growing; best sown in the fall/early winter (cold-moist stratification).
