Description
An Asian variety of Lilium martagon, with lanceolate, whorled leaves that differ from the species by having abundant white, curly hairs abaxially on the tepals (which are glabrous in L. martagon). It is quite interesting to witness the fuzzy, white buds transforming to open into reddish flowers!
The flowers are nodding, usually deep pink to purple-red and spotted. In this particular mother-plant specimen the red flowers have only few spots. Very handsome! flowers!
Germination: delayed hypogeal germination: warm/moist period is needed first to form the bulblets/root; the first true leaves will appear after 3 months of a cold/moist period.
