Description
Rheum compactum is a perennial plant growing from a stout, woody, rhizomatous rootstock. The basal leaves are smaller in size than other Rheum sp. and thicker in texture. The flowering petioles can be up to 25 cm long with dense, white inflorescences.
All in all, a smaller size rhubarb comparing with other species and grown with less moisture will remain even more compact. It still requires it share of space, so not a species for small gardens.
Germination: said to be warm germinator.
