Description
A native, vigorous blackberry that can form colonies in a variety of situations from shade to sun. Arching stems without or with few prickles, palmately compound, shiny leaves white flowers, followed by red, later black shiny fruits; they are abundant and delicious, especially when picked while hiking 😊 Pollinators and high wildlife value.
Not for the regular size city garden but useful for naturalizations, wildlife gardens.
Germination: sow the seeds when you get them and be patient, like with most Rubus species it may take longer than 1 year to germinate because of the impermeabile seed coat. Sowing fresh seeds usually give better results. To improve the germination try to scarify the pyrenes before allowing the required cold/moist stratification period.
