Description
Beautiful rosettes of dense, fleshy leaves are starting to emerge in early spring; they are born from a short rhizome which then starts to elongate and produce terminal, compact inflorescences with small yellow flowers.
The Rhodiola root is popular in traditional medicine in Siberia and Asia (flu-like symptoms, fatigue, stress, high altitude sickness).
Germination: the seeds are very small and require light for germination and usually cold-moist stratification. GA3 treatment can be used to speed up the germination (that’s how I grew it; the seedlings will elongate a bit but develop well later).
