Description
This is a tall Rudbeckia with yellow rays/green centers and deeply divided leaves; it flowers in mid to late summer/fall.
Good pollinator species like all Rudbeckias; recommended for large garden and naturalized areas. It spreads by rhizomes and in smaller gardens will need constant monitoring.
The bold and beautiful cv. ‘Herbstsonne’ which grows in my garden belongs to this species. I keep it restraint in a dry location and wouldn’t be without it.
Germination: sown in the fall or very early spring (cold/moist stratification). It can be sown ‘in situ’, especially for larger areas.
